2026 Awards and Prizes

ISSCD-SSCD Young Investigator Prize

The ISSCD–SSCD Young Investigator Prize recognizes early-career investigators whose research has made a meaningful contribution to the field of celiac disease. The Prize is awarded biennially in the amount of $7,500 and is announced jointly by the International Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (ISSCD) and the Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (SSCD).

ISSCD-SSCD Prize for Excellence in Celiac Disease Research

The ISSCD–SSCD Prize for Excellence in Celiac Disease Research recognizes investigators whose research has made a meaningful contribution to the field of celiac disease. The Prize is awarded biennially in the amount of $5,000 and is announced jointly by the International Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (ISSCD) and the Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (SSCD).

SSCD Celiac Disease Young Investigator Development Award

This research award provides up to $150,000 USD to support promising researchers in the early stages of their career, fostering their potential to contribute significantly to independent basic, translational, or clinical research in celiac disease.

SSCD Dietitian Award

This research award provides up to $10,000 USD to support a registered dietitian's research, education, community nutrition, or quality improvement (QI) activities that have the potential to advance nutrition care of patients with celiac disease.

Celiac Disease Foundation Rising Villus Student Research Award 

This research award provides a $5,000 USD stipend to support a 10-week mentored research experience in celiac disease for medical and graduate students and medical residents at any time throughout the year.

Celiac Disease Foundation Global Patient Education Grant Award

This grant provides up to $2,500 USD to support celiac disease patient societies outside the United States in developing educational programs that enhance disease awareness, diagnosis, and management.
